I’ve been a big fan of Maggie Walters for a few years and have played a few of her songs on Chillville. This is a new video that popped up on the SXSW homepage, and was explained as such on that site:
The new video for “No Sex” by Maggie Walters, featuring Gudrid Hansdottir, is a great example of the creativity that emerges from the House of Songs, a cultural exchange program in which musicians from Denmark and the musically-oriented Faroe Islands come to live for a few weeks here in Austin and collaborate with Austin musicians. Maggie brought the lyrics to “No Sex” to the project and she and Gudrid worked together on the music, with Gudrid’s parts sung in Faroese. The video was shot in Austin and Torshavn, and the song will be included on Maggie’s new album, produced by Paul Leary of the Butthole Surfers. Both Gudrid and Maggie have showcases at Creekside at Hilton Garden Inn and will also perform together at the House of Songs showcase.
